Qualification

Who This Is For, and When to Start

1
EligibilityAny student who has passed Class 10 can register for CA Foundation. The exam itself is written after Class 12.
2
Best entry pointGrade 11 / PU1 is when our 16-month roadmap begins, running alongside your school syllabus rather than against it.
3
StreamOpen to any stream. A commerce background in Accounts or Economics helps, but it isn't a requirement.
4
RegistrationFoundation registration stays open through the year with ICAI, and we walk every family through the actual paperwork.

Career Path

From Foundation to Chartered Accountant

Foundation is the first of four stages. Here's the complete road ahead, so you know exactly what this exam is leading toward.

1
Entry stage

CA Foundation

4 papers, 400 marks, written after Class 12. This is the stage we teach, live at Skillern today.

2
Middle stage

CA Intermediate

6 papers across two groups. Group 1 covers Advanced Accounting, Corporate and Other Laws, and Taxation. Group 2 covers Cost and Management Accounting, Auditing and Ethics, and Financial Management and Strategic Management. Roughly 70% descriptive and 30% MCQ, and the two groups can be cleared separately.

3
Practical training

Articleship

Hands-on training under a practising Chartered Accountant, working on real audit files, tax returns, and client engagements. ICAI's practical training requirement is currently moving from 3 years to 2 under the New Scheme.

4
Final stage

CA Final

6 papers across two groups. Group 1 covers Financial Reporting, Advanced Financial Management, and Advanced Auditing. Group 2 covers Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation, Indirect Tax Laws, and Integrated Business Solutions, a 4-hour case study paper, plus 4 Self-Paced Online Modules. Students can attempt this in the final 6 months of articleship.

5
Qualified

Chartered Accountant

ICAI membership and the CA prefix, at the end of a journey that takes roughly 4.5 to 5 years from Foundation registration. Most students get here well before a peer who chose a traditional degree followed by an MBA.

Our Methodology

The 16-Month Roadmap, From PU1 to CA Foundation

This is the actual structure we run students through, built and refined in our own classrooms, not a generic coaching calendar.

Phase 1

Foundation Building

Months 1 to 6

We build strong basics in PU1. School concepts are taught alongside their CA applications from day one, and weekly quizzes keep everything fresh.

Phase 2

Acceleration

Months 7 to 12

CA-specific subjects are introduced in PU2 / Grade 12. The complete syllabus is taught once, in full, by the middle of PU2, and a midway review keeps every student on track.

Phase 3

Board Exam Focus

Months 13 to 14

We deliberately slow the CA content here. Board exams take priority, with just enough light CA revision to keep concepts warm.

Phase 4

CA Exam Target

Months 15 to 16

An intensive revision push right after boards. Mock tests, exam strategy, and one-on-one doubt clearing all the way to exam day.

How We're Different

An Integrated Solution, Not Separate Coaching

Most families end up paying for school and CA coaching as two completely separate things, run by two separate teams who never talk to each other. We built Skillern to close that gap.

Integrated curriculumSchool and CA syllabus are taught together, so there's no second schedule competing for your child's evenings.
Personal mentoringOne-on-one guidance from qualified faculty, with parents kept in the loop through regular updates.
Quality teachingOur faculty combine school teachers with practising Chartered Accountants, so students get both grounding and real-world context.
A peer environment that helpsA classroom of like-minded, motivated classmates builds healthy competition instead of isolation.
Administrative supportWe help directly with ICAI registration and the paperwork that comes with it.
Regular assessmentsChapter-wise tests as each topic finishes, plus a comprehensive test every month.
Mock tests that matterAligned with previously asked ICAI questions, roughly 20 full sets before the real exam.
Support beyond the syllabusDoubt sessions and stress-management workshops are built into the schedule, not squeezed in when exams get close.
Learning Management SystemEvery student gets their own LMS login: study resources, assignments, practice exercises, recorded sessions, and progress tracking, all in one place.
Performance analyticsWe track results across every test, so you always know exactly where your child stands, not just how the exam felt.
A fixed weekly rhythmClasses run on a set weekly schedule, not an ad hoc calendar, so momentum never breaks between sessions.
Real classroom applicationCase studies, industry examples, and project-based learning bring the syllabus to life instead of leaving it as pure theory.
3 hrs/dayMinimum study commitment, 3 to 4 days a week. We tell every family this upfront.
2 yearsTwo academic years end to end, roughly 14 to 15 months of active teaching within that span.
BlendedInstructor-led classes, case studies, assignments, and LMS-backed practice, not lectures alone.
